We’ve got a few changes to report.
So get a cup of coffee… and let’s do this!

First and foremost, thank you for being a TJS user. We’re humbled you have chosen TJS as your Trade-tracking & Analysis software and because you have, we’ve taken your feedback and made it come to life. Also (as you can see), we’ve created an all-new website and a vastly improved Support page for this release. We hope you’ll find plenty to like in the newest TJS Elite “v8” product.

Trading Log - v8

Functionality, Aesthetics, Usability

Functionality

New “Toolbox and Settings” section.
You’ll now have control over the following:

  • Decimals buttons  Easily change the decimal structure for all Price columns, with 1-click. (0-5 decimals).
  • Clear All Data No more having to pay for new file reactivation’s when wanting to start over. Amen to that!
  • Reset Formulas Have you ever mistakenly erased a formula? Just click a button and have all your formulas rebuilt. You may never need our support again.
  • HFT “High Frequency Trader” mode This mode is for traders who wish to save data-entry time.

When this mode is enabled, all (Qty, Price and Time) columns will be locked, allowing the Tab key to skip over those columns. It will also conveniently hide the Scatter Plot graph and specific columns in the blue “Trade Summary” section, which would no longer populate anyway. None of the stats in the Analysis sheet are affected by HFT mode.

  • Account Balance section It’s all been simplified! Now, you’ll just go to a designated cell in your Trading Log to enter your beginning Account Balance. The Account Adjustment column is right below it, allowing you to easily adjust your account balance, for (deposits or withdrawals).

Your Trading Log Cumulative Balance and Closed Equity stats will be easily managed, and the ROI figure in your Analysis sheet will always be accurate. A side benefit is that it makes for a cleaner and more useful Broker / Accounts sheet

Aesthetics

  • Equity-curve now has functionality to change the graph background. The default shows the TJS Logo. With six preset backgrounds, there is sure to be one that suits your fancy.
  • Home Menu button Did you ever wish the TJS used an actual “home menu” button instead of a button with a home on it? Sleep tight tonight, as your wishes have come true.
  • Sort button link in the Exit Date column now has a happy disposition. Gone are the days of just being a lonely text link.
  • Hyperlink text remains the same size font after being clicked. Before this change, Excel would assume you wanted the hyperlink to become unreadable. Yea, we’re stumped too.
  • Headers, Borders, Buttons Subtle changes have been made to make this the best looking TJS to date.
  • Blue! We can’t be for certain, but we may have invented a new blue. You heard that right. We spent many nights mixing different RGB’s, HSL’s and Hex color formats until we created a hue that has never been seen before. Cool fact; this new site uses the same blue as the TJS product.

So, while we’re off trademarking our new blue invention, please enjoy the fruits of our labor, which reminds us of a little poem… “Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, along came the TJS, to provide trade analysis for you!”

  • Fonts  Consistency is key for the new “v8”. No longer will you find a plethora of fonts adding chaos to your sheets. We tried hard to standardize the look and feel of each sheet the best we could. You can think of the various TJS sheets as a company with a strict (er, upbeat) dress code.

Usability / Efficiency

  • Scale In / Out section Tired of having to write your multiple exits in your Journal / Notes section? Now, enter (up to 5) separate Entries and Exits in their own designated section. Are you doing the happy dance yet?
  • Personal Data section has increased from (4) “Personal” columns… to (8). Most TJS users will not need all (or any) of these extra columns, but they are there for you just in case – add any type of data you wish.
  • Return Arrow buttons are now numerous and in key locations. Getting back to Column A is now easy peasy, no matter where you’re at in the Trading Log.
  • Section Arrow buttons have been created to quickly get you to any section you desire. Want to get to your new Toolbox… click a button. How about getting to your Personal data section, or your new Scale In/Out pricing section… click a button.  With the new “v8”, you’re “scrolling” days are over!
  • Paste it We created some magical coding that detects when you’re trying to Copy and Paste data from other cells or other spreadsheets, and then made sure your good intentions won’t compromise the formatting of your TJS. It’s just a safeguard to ensure that we are not the source of any potential frustrations.

We hope you like it!

TJS Analysis - v8

More rows. Revised header. New Bar graph.

  • Added (3) additional rows to each section that had only (5) – not shown in images.
    • Believe it or not, there was much more work to this than one would think, which is why I had to turn away user modification requests to do so. The time and labor alone would have cost many times the amount of the TJS purchase price.
  • The blue Color and Font selection are now standardized in this sheet to match all other sheets.
  • Instructional cells are grouped together at the top of the sheet.
  • Revised header borders for a cleaner appearance.
  • The old home menu button is replaced with a (real) Home Menu button. Other button & icons revisions.
  • New bar graph created, and centered in the top-header, which visually displays: Equity and P&L.

Accounts - v8

Broker / Accounts sheet ledger.

Unlike before (and as mentioned above in the Trading Log “updates list”), you will no longer be linking the Accounts sheet to your Analysis sheet. That process is much more simplified now.

Although you’ll still want to enter your Broker/Account names, the ledger is totally optional now. If you decide to use it (to keep track of your balance/statements), you’ll have a handy transaction ledger drop-down menu – which can be easily modified by you.

You’ll still get the Analysis sheet stats that you are used to:

  • Total # of trades, per Account
  • Total Frequency traded, per Account
  • Total Profit / Loss, per Account

TJS Home Menu - v8

Aesthetic changes only:

  • Subtle detail revisions to the appearance, which clearly separates each of the tabbed categories.
  • No more underlined links, leading to a cleaner look.
  • Standard fonts, as some systems did not correctly display the specialized fonts.
  • The Logo is now 3D, and the “TJS” insignia has been revised.

Scale In/Out - v8

New! Dedicated Multiple Entry & Exit section.

There is now a dedicated section for your multiple Entries and Exits (up to 5 each). If you need more than five, the Scale Out sheet is still there for you. You can get to this section very easily too, as each of the Entry and Exit headers has a “quick-link”.

Trade Review - v8

Easily view (and Review) your trade details

Each trade (row) has its own clickable link, and when clicked, will take you directly to the Trade Review sheet, displaying that exact trade. No more having to “toggle” your way through the Trade Review sheet trying to find a specific trade. Oh Yea!!!
